The Storici

Classics do not chase time: they keep it.

Wines made only from native grape varieties, faithful to the most classic and pure version of each: Albana, Bombino Bianco (Pagadebit), Sangiovese, Cagnina, Barbarossa. They keep the first Sangiovese Riserva produced in Romagna, grapes rescued from oblivion, a craft handed down. They respect history without betraying it.

Tacco Arancio

Bombino Bianco (Pagadebit)

The Pagadebit that Mario Pezzi saved after Spallicci’s appeal, today dressed in orange gold, like a Romagna sunset. Dried apricot, candied orange peel, chestnut honey, almond, wild fennel. An enveloping texture, silky tannins, an almost saline finish. The colour comes from a light maceration on the skins.

Albana Secco Vigna Olivo

Albana

The Albana of Bertinoro, the great white grape of Romagna, in its classic form. Apricot, yellow peach, fresh almond, acacia honey; savoury, fresh, with the minerality of the Bertinoro clays that gives it longevity.

I Mezzi

Albana

Explosive: it leaps out of the glass from a distance. Passion fruit, pink grapefruit, lime; then cut grass, tomato leaf, basil; finally elderflower and a thread of salt.

Sangiovese in its clarity: ripe cherry, sour cherry, violet. Harmonious, elegant tannins, fresh acidity, a savoury finish. The Classic of the Romagna table.

Vigna Molino

Sangiovese

One place, one voice. The nuances of every corner of the vineyard merge into a single expression: woodland herbs, anise, damp stones, cherry, raspberry, juniper. Fine tannins, great energy, a blood-orange finish. It ages about three years before release.

Vigna delle Lepri

Sangiovese

The first Sangiovese Riserva produced in Romagna, 1970. The clone descends from the first “Biondi Santi” Sangiovese Grosso biotype. About five years between French oak and cocciopesto, then the bottle. Pipe tobacco, violet, leather, berries; deep, intense without opulence. In 1982 it was served to Ronald Reagan at the Quirinale.

Barbarossa Vigna Spungone

Barbarossa

Where the ancient sea left its breath in the earth. Freshly picked cherry, kirsch, ginger, pink pepper, wild strawberry, a balsamic embrace of sage. It reveals itself slowly and becomes, over the years, more beautiful, deeper, truer.

Cagnina

Cagnina

The historic sweet red of Bertinoro, from a variety Mario Pezzi saved from extinction in the 1960s. Deep ruby, berries, black cherry, violet; sweet but never cloying. The wine of autumn and of homemade cakes.

Contessina

Albana Dolce · Vigna Viale

An elegant Albana, sweet with a fresh finish. Acacia honey, apricot, white peach; a sweetness that enters enveloping and slips away, giving way to orange, mandarin and lime.

Gradisca

Albana Muffato · Vigna Viale

Born in 1993. Brushed by the morning mists, the Albana bunches yield to noble rot, which concentrates their sugars. Citrus and acacia honey, apricot, peach; a finish of citrus peel. It was loved by Federico Fellini.
